Chad Waelchli is the owner, and head performance coach of CW Fitness. Chad is KWIK Goal’s (the world wide leader in soccer equipment) performance coach and exercise specialist. Chad has trained athletes and clients of all ages and abilities including NFL combine athletes, USA Olympic Cyclists, minor league baseball players, collegiate athletes, high school athletes, youth athletes, and personal training clients. He is the head performance coach for the Northwestern High School Girls Soccer team, Bangor Boys Soccer Team, the Parkland High School Baseball team, the Parkland Boys Volley Ball Team, and the Parkland Field Hockey Team. Chad has also worked with the Northern Lehigh High School Boys and Girls Soccer teams, Salisbury Softball Team, Bangor High School Boys and Girls Basketball teams, including the 2012 Girls District XI Championship team, and the Northwestern Lehigh Field Hockey Team.
Along with specialized and functional training, Chad annually presents reasearch and lectures at NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) and ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) conferences at the national, regional and local level, and has been doing so for over 8 years. For the first time in January of 2016, Chad presented at the National Soccer a Coaches Association of America’s National Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, where he presented four different topics on performance training. The conference consisted of over 5000 soccer coaches from around the world. Chad also was a teacher of biomechanics, nutrition, and strength training principles at DeSales University in Allentown, PA from 2008-2009. While at DeSales, Chad served as the head strength and conditioning coach for the DeSales University Baseball team and provided training seminars for the Women’s soccer team.
Prior to establishing CW Fitness, Chad was the Sports Performance Director of Velocity Sports Performance in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Before joining Velocity, Chad was the Head Sport Performance Coach at MVP Sports Training Center in Hulmeville, PA. Prior to his work with MVP, Chad was an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Athletes Advantage Training Center in Conshohocken, PA.
Chad received his Masters Degree in Exercise Science in August of 2005 and his Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science in May of 2004, both from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania . While at ESU, Chad served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Wilkes University and Lehigh University and was a Graduate Assistant in the Intramural and Recreation Department at ESU.
Chad is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified SPARQ trainer (Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction, and Quickness). Chad played collegiate baseball at North Carolina Wesleyan College and East Stroudsburg University. While at NCWC, Chad was selected to the USA South Academic All-Conference team and the Phi Epsilon Kappa National Honors Society. Chad was an all area and all state catcher who had professional workouts with the Florida Marlins and Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and was scouted by the Colorado Rockies. Chad turned down a free agent deal with the Philadelphia Phillies to focus on his graduate school and thesis research. Chad is currently working part time as a professional model for fitness, acting, and men’s casual wear as well as training and competing in mixed martial arts. Chad has had photo shoots for such companies as Majestic, Runners World Magazine, and has been a fitness Model for Men’s Health Magazine.
